Weight Gain, Funny Image

I am sorry, but you obviously have not "done every diet there" is. I have one for you: put down the fork. We can do it together. Weight loss is a solution because it will relieve a lot of the pressure your body is forced to take out on your joints. Four years of weight loss attempts and nothing to show for it? You need to try harder.

I went from 108lbs / 48.9kg (my lowest) all the way back up to 142lbs / 64.5kg (where I was around October 2009.) I would like to be like the lady in the picture above and tell myself that I don't understand why it happened, but I very much do.

I didn't touch a scale for almost two months. On top of that I ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I even went well beyond the capacity of feeling full. I made myself sick more than once by eating way too much. I could feel my stomach literally stretching because of the strain I would put on it. My digestive system was not happy and did not take the adjustment lightly. I have stretch marks now and I have never had them before.

I don't want to scare anyone into thinking that if they start eating "normally" they will suddenly gain 30lbs like I did. I was eating more than any healthy person should, around 3,500 to 4,000 calories per day, a great majority of which was fueled by my constant fast food combos. I was having one or two a day every single day. That's around 1,400 calories in one sitting.
I went from being able to wear size 1US comfortably to hardly being able to wear a size 4US. It was a huge, easily noticeable difference. Despite my lack of scale use I did keep a very close eye on my calorie intake.

I started to restrict modestly at the start of the New Year because I finally sucked it up and weighed myself on New Year's Eve. Seeing the scale really motivated me to get back on track. I have been eating 1,200 calories or less since January 1st and thankfully I am already back down to 131.0lbs / 59.4kg in just three weeks. I wish I could keep up this lovely pattern of easily losing 3lbs to 4lbs / 1.8kg per week but I know that as I get thinner it will get harder.

I would really like to hit my ultimate goal weight by this summer. If I stay on track and keep active like I have been it should be entirely doable. I remember not so long ago when it was a struggle to eat 800 calories during the lax days of ABC. Now staying near 1,000 is a struggle. :/

Sateash Khan New Fashion Shoot 2011

Sateash Khan New Fashion Shoot 2011

Roberto Cavalli 2011

When I first saw this show I didn’t like it, but after a few minutes I realized it is really beautiful. Roberto Cavalli has gone from over the top glam rock chick, to sexy, gypsy hippy girl. She looks relaxed, easy, and the clothing is effortless. I like it.

I Love…

Roberto Cavalli's nouveau gypsy girl.

the mix of textures, the brocade pants, and the soft layering

the textiles patterns mixed together. The red brocade, and the animal print on the fur and legging look amazing.

this fantastic hippy dress.

Roberto Cavalli's use of animal prints. Amazing.

Dolce & Gabbana a catwalk full of pantless women

This Dolce & Gabbana collection was all about the classic pieces in which their brand is known for: leopard print dresses, sexy tailoring, and corsetry influences. I think it is a strong collection, and looks great on the catwalk, but I am a bit confused about the no-pants looks. Although the tailored jackets look fantastic, and there is no doubt this is a striking way to end a fashion show, I am not sure I really understand why they are all wearing panties and jackets. To me, this show is a blatant exhibition of clothing to be bought and worn: completely commercial, desirable Dolce & Gabbana, so why are the models bare bottomed?

I Love…

the classic suit worn with a suggestive bustier.

everything about this dress: the striking red, the jeweled waist, the draping, and the lingerie straps. It is very Dolce & Gabbana and very Sicilian.

leopard print and lace. Those words spell Dolce & Gabbana.

tailored suits made from knits.
I Loathe…
tailored jackets worn without pants. But those cami-knickers do look beautiful.
